![]() I agree integral is usually quieter than screw-on, for reasons that should be obvious to knowledgeable shooters.Īs for proving your point with a movie and its credits, it's no fun to hit one out of the park when you lob it over the plate like that. And the OP was not asking about integral - nor planning to run one. If you are shooting a semi auto the Quiets will not cycle the action. I would say that the decision depends on the host. It is like comparing dropping a pen on the floor of a library vs dropping an eraser. I've noticed you go to integrally suppressed in most suppressor conversations - though far fewer shoot integral than not. Assuming you are shooting suppressed the difference to you the shooter is apparent but to the neighbors it will all be quiet. ![]() Your neighbor would not be asking about what your doing with a stapler. And that would be with supersonic rounds, allowing for tuned maxium subsonic velocities. 22 bolt rifle should be so quiet as to allow the operator to hear the sear snap. Certainly way too loud for a intregral rifle. I actually think that an industrial stapler would be quite loud when compared to a quality integral. A great deal depends on velocity, cycling noise, blast can quality. In the film "Assassines" (1995) all the recorded sound was unedited and recorded as shot in every scene. 22 can sound exactly like Hollywood suppressors. PMC Moderator Subsonic Suppressed 113 DB creating 38.82 DB Reduction Remington Subsonic Suppressed 117.75 DB creating 34.14 DB Reduction Win SupX Hyper Vel Suppressed 120.22 DB creating 33.98 DB Reduction There were others tested, these show the two lowest velocity & the one highest.
